The Ikebana stone is unique to Asobimasu. A signature design, finished in our unique speckled stone clay body. Hand crafted by Kate Brouwer in our Australian based studio.

Reflective of the natural state of stone, this piece is shaped to form a hollow work that can be filled with water. Its curved centre has holes in it allowing for flowers to be arranged in its walls. The simplicity of this design allows for the ease of use when arranging flowers, making the art of floristry accessible to any household flower lover, as well as the trained florist.

The flower art of Ikebana is an ancient Japanese tradition. It's simplicity in showcasing the beauty of natural materials is what we love to highlight with each of our ceramic pieces.

”Thank you kindly for shopping locally and ethically. It’s your on-going love of hand-made products that keep artists like myself, doing what I love.”
regards,
Kate

Width 20cm x 9cm High

*Please note as each Asobimasu vessel is made by hand, please allow for a some variance in size, approx +/- 1cm from the listed dimensions. The beauty of the firing and glazing process means each piece will have it’s own unique surface finish and colour and may vary slightly from image shown.

Each Asobimasu piece is made by hand, with a custom blend of stoneware clay bodies. These pieces are then twice fired, to high stoneware temperatures. Giving them strengthened durability, making them a piece of fine art, practical for everyday use.

Stoneware is a non-porous type of clay that when high-fired is fully vitrified & holds water. Each range has been tested to ensure it is watertight, with an added layer of liquid quarts on the base as a final finish & seal.

Each of our vases has been created thoughtfully with fine furniture in mind, we sand the bases at each step of the way. Leaving a smooth stone finish that is kind to furniture.

After each use, wash your ceramics with warm soapy water to remove any floral residue, keeping your piece clean & ready for future floral arrangements. Noting that this particular piece is a closed form which can not be opened. It's important to not let your flowers die in it whilst in use. If it does become dirty, a soak in water with a drop of vinegar, detergent & pinch of salt will loosen the dirt, and keep it clean for future use. We advice taking good care of your ceramic pieces after each use.
