I've been working away quietly in the background, planning & designing a body of work and showcase in partnership my friend & floral artist Graham Ho of Tweed Twigs. We're presenting a show across the weekend of May 24 & 25th as part of Melbourne Design Week 2024 in partnership with the NGV (National Gallery of Victoria).

As part of Melbourne Design Week, we're exploring the notion of unexpected
"Recipe for design is an explorative exhibit by ceramic artist Kate Brouwer of Asobimasu Clay and floral artist Graham Ho of Tweed Twigs. The installation platforms the composition of ideas, processes and actions inherent in producing design outcomes. Brouwer & Ho share a reverence for natural materials, exploring mud, plant material, and flowers, blending playful installations with reconfigured ceramic objects. Expect the unexpected as they enquire where the everyday meets art and art intersects with the everyday."
It's been a journey of exploration, discussion and creativity as Graham & I spill our ideas over lengthy conversations and planning. A dual partnership of expression and understanding. One that has come with a lot of trust and admiration in each others artistic vision. Graham and I look forward to spilling our combined artistry into a table setting to be admired, displayed for two days above Gemini Melbourne's restaurant.
We invite you to our free event, to view and enjoy. With the option of purchasing a paired drink & treat served in Asobimasu ceramics created for the event. A truly immersive experience.
Bookings are essential, with the event hosted by Myself & Graham accross the two days.
